How’s it going? It’s been a minute, and that’s because we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to finalize some details for y’all!
First up, we would like to invite all of you to join us for a LIVE end-of-Kickstarter party on YouTube on Sunday, July 11, from 6–8pm Eastern time.We’ll be hanging out with some special guests, taking your questions, and experiencing the last few minutes of what is honestly the most significant project Web DM has ever undertaken. Second, we have a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT we’ve been anxiously anticipating and are finally ready to share!
As stated on the Kickstarter page, our deluxe edition books will have an alternate cover. That alternate cover will be painted by one of our very favorite fantasy artists of all time, WAYNE REYNOLDS! Mr. Reynolds has created art for so many tabletop RPGs, including D&D, Pendragon, Pathfinder, and Judge Dredd, and other games and media such as Magic: The Gathering and Judge Dredd comic books. His art, especially the art for Dark Sun, was a major part of our formative gaming years, and he has always been one of our very favorite artists. We are absolutely thrilled to be working with him and look forward to sharing his creation with backers as soon as we can!
And finally, we have our FINAL STRETCH GOAL to announce!
Thank you all for your suggestions! It’s encouraging to us that so many of your requests are for things we’re already planning on including in the book—there are gonna be a LOT of tables, mechanical support for weather, guidelines on how to “weird up” supplemental monsters, unique materials and properties, crafting and salvage info, mutation tables (we’re calling it “warp” in this book), and info on other post-apocalyptic biomes. These are all things you requested and all things that are happening, stretch goal or no!
We wanted our final stretch goal to improve the project for every single backer, and we wanted to be able to involve more creators in the community and take advantage of the opportunity to spread the love. So that’s why we’ve decided on this for our final goal:
We’ve got a few days left, and we’re confident we can hit this goal, especially if we have your help! Please share our project with your gaming communities, friends, and family. This is our first project, and as it ends, we want to reach as many people as we can and let them know about our vision for what 5e can be.

Hey there, weirdos! Thought we’d give you a quick update with a few of the places you can see us talk about Weird Wastelands (and TTRPGs in general!) and shout out to some other projects we think are pretty great.
We have several exciting appearances that are still TBA, and we’ll keep you posted when those are out.
In the meantime, here are a couple projects going on right now that we love and wanted to share with you all.
Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting is wrapping up, and it looks amazing! We’ve been working with Hit Point Press for years, and they make consistently incredible books, and this one is honestly right up our alley and looks like the harvesting and crafting rules would work REALLY well together with Weird Wastelands!

Finally, our friends at Dungeon Craft have a couple new books funding now: Fallen Kingdom and Jungles of Dread. Both books have nearly 1,000 jungle-themed terrain pieces in them, which allow DMs to build custom interactive battlemaps in minutes. They feature overgrown jungles, sprawling dungeons, tribal camps, coastal markets, as well as some of the most iconic locations from Tomb of Annihilation.
We’ve known these folks for years now, and we’ve been using Dungeon Craft at home games and cons for just as long, and they do great work! Highly recommended!
