Why are there limits on print copy tiers? Are you producing a limited number of copies?
EVERYONE who wants a print copy will be able to pledge and receive one! We have limits on tiers based on how many we can fulfill at a time. When one tier fills up, we will open a new batch. Again, there are no limits on available copies!

My game is more traditional fantasy. Will this book be useful to me?
Absolutely! The locations in the book can be “weirded down” or “weirded up” with ease, and we’ll give you “Web DM Wisdom” on how to do that. Many of the locations can be used outside of a desert setting as is and can be put in just about any other type of environment.

I want the book but I don’t play 5e. Will I still be able to use it?
Sure! While the mechanics are being designed in 5e, Weird Wastelands offers a plethora of locations, setting information, NPCs, maps, and inspiration that can be used in any other TTRPG.

Is this a setting book?
It’s a lot more than that! Weird Wastelands is a location-based toolkit. We’re taking an environment, digging down deep into what it means to adventure in it, and giving you everything you need to run encounters, adventures, or even entire campaigns in it. There is an implied setting in the offerings, but whether you choose to use that to run is entirely up to you. It works either way.

Is this an adventure?
No, but you can run adventures with it! The locations we’re presenting come with adventure hooks, NPCs, factions, treasure, possible encounters, and everything you need to run adventures, and if you link locations together, it’s easy to run an entire player-driven, interconnected campaign in the Weird Wasteland. As such, we did not feel it was necessary to include an adventure path or module, as all that information–and more–is already right at your fingertips.

Why aren't you including an Artificer subclass?
This book is being published utilizing the Open Game License for 5e. As such, we are only able to include information that is available under that license. Currently, artificers are not included in it.

Are you going to include random encounter tables?
If you’re a Web DM fan, you know we love to extol the virtues of a well-designed random table, and we’re including a LOT of tables in this book. What’s well-designed mean for a random table? A table full of options that are connected to the location they’re in, featuring encounters with creatures with things they’re doing and their own motivation, and that are easy to customize to fit your party.
We’re putting high priority on ease of use and reference for this book. That means when a bulky paragraph could be expressed in an easy-to-read table, that’s what we’re doing!

Is the .pdf going to be annotated?
You bet! We intend to take as full advantage of the digital print format as we can - it’s always such a letdown when a .pdf isn’t searchable or doesn’t have hyperlinks.

Is there a .pdf of the Weird Workbook?
Yes, that will be included with the .pdf of the book, along with separate high-res maps for your VTT convenience.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
